RS Heater Bypass Duct Question
I'm installing an RS heater bypass duct, and the fit between the duct and the new plenum doesn't seem right to me. It looks as though the duct has been grinded down on the right side, and the plenum seems about 1/3" too wide at that spot. Wondering if Pelican sent me an used/altered bypass tube. Perhaps someone trying to make it fit the newer plenum?
Thanks in advance,
Jim

Thanks nine9six, that's my assessment as well. I paid for a new part from Sunset, and it seems they sent me a returned item that's been hacked up and altered.

Bought a new one from Sunset a few years ago & unfortunately, looks very similar. Search for other's experiences & you'll find complaints about poor fit to the duct are common.
Not sure if the tooling / manufacturing has gotten sloppy after ~20yrs or if these were like that from the start - looks like a cheap rotomolded part, really only meant for very low volume clubsport models so not entirely surprising..

That's helpful feedback. I'm interested to hear from others with a RS duct bypass.

You should feel lucky! I won't show you how much I had to butcher up mine, to get it to work. The turbo heater tube (that sits behind bumper) sits up higher into engine compartment. The RS tube is not designed for the TT, so it's not really set up to work. I have (maybe) a 3rd to half of the tube left, after modifying it to work. Shoulda just ran flexible aluminum tubing.

LOL Overboosted - I've ready many threads about the difficulties fitting TT's
My apologies to Pelican - turns out I ordered these bits from Sunset this time around to save a few bucks. Interesting that ToSi also received a bum duct from Sunset. In any event, I'm insisting on a replacement and will report back. It looks like a dog was chewing on the darn thing.
