Default Dash chime for ignition key and headlights

Does anyone have and wish to sell a relay that sits behind the gas gauge which produces a chime when the door opens and either key is in ignition or headlights are left on?
Porsche wants $270!

What's the part number? I'm sure it's not a Porsche-specific relay.

Default door chime

Thank you hoggel. Mine is missing entirely- may stay that way as $220 is preposterous.

Where is it located exactly? In the dash? I should have mine from my GT2 project. You can have it for free because rennlist. I just need to find the right part first.

I think the relay is located behind the fuel gauge.

Its got to be close to the VW relay used in Golfs from 85-92 ( and more), although the VW one plays a tri tone that sounds like "la Cucaracha". VW Part # 1HM 919 433A

https://www.ebay.com/p/Relay-VW-AUDI...-Day/675476235

the sound:

Default chime relay

Thank you both for the helpful replies and generous offer, Juha.
I shall check details of the $220 Porsche part, and compare to the $10.99 VW piece, and get back. Hopefully, the pins, voltage, etc. are the same, even though the sound differs.

Damn that is an annoying sound! I would loose it every time I got in and out of my car!

My old 85 VW GTI had a buzzer, but that one is NLA.

The Audi buzzer ( ding- ding -ding) is almost as much as the Porsche : 4A0-919-439 around $190 new !! I think it was used on Audi 80 / 90 models.

More VW/Audi buzzer relays : 321 919 433 B, 357 959 664

You could go to a pick and pull junkyard and look around at older VW / Audis, find the fuse panel under the dash and pull the relay with the speaker grill.

Just keep in mind depending on which relay (pins) some might have only the key in ignition chime and no headlight reminder. One might be a buzzer instead of the chime.

Showing my VW/Audi roots.

I have those roots. And a relay panel from a 92 Gti in my toolbox. I'll have a look at it when I get home.

Update: the mk II VW buzzer is not plug-and-play for the 993. The 993 'gong relay' has 7 contacts, the VW relay has 6.

Shop around. 928 618 102 03 is $153 at Sonnen. Not free, but better than $200 plus
