Smile My stalk is drooping.

My on board computer stalk, that is. Very embarrassing...

Is there a way to tighten it up? or is that a replacement item.
Just asking before I start taking my column apart - No pun intended!

Thanks.

Tom,
Sorry if my terminology is a bit iffy.
Some 993s had the optional computer, located on the tach, the functions of which are operated by a stalk attached to the steering column positioned below the indicator stalk in the same manner as the stalk on the right, (just below the wiper control stalk) that controls the cruise control.

Anyway, mine's drooping (but still works). Just wondered if anyone had fixed this
problem before...

Rub Viagra cream on firmly......... It may not help the electronics but it will stiffen those fingers... :-)

I couldn't help myself...

Matt,

My "stalk is also drooping". I'd also be interested in a fix, for obvious reasons.

Have ya'll heard the scientific name for Viagra? Mydixafloppin. Also, ibepokin.

Matt, I think the fact your stalk is drooping is a judgement from above for a certain comment made in another thread! ["Yeah...looks like the 996 is going to be the 964 of the 21st Century..."] Not even viagra (aka Mydixafloppin) is going to save your stalks until you see the error of your drooping ways!

Sorry Ruairidh,
Just a little residual 993/964 board humor contest exuberance there.....
Frankly, If God reads Rennlist postings, we're all in trouble

Neglecting the replies from the morons with a mental age and IQ of 15.

Thoughts are that you might have to pull the switch out and look inside. I don't know if a swivel joint is broked or if you just have to pry some contacts back to get a firmer grip on the stalk. Probably requires yanking the steering wheel.

This based on problems I had with the steering column turn signal/hi-lo beam switch on old '76.

Ahh, a contribution of one without a sense of humor. No wonder they call you boring. Lighten up, your assessment of IQ has no validity...

Look at the title of the post; don't you recognize the tongue in cheek.

Jerk..
