Default 993 tip troubles

HI All

I have a 993 C2S in HKG. Has anyone had the problem of getting stuck in manual mode? and not being able to get it back to Auto? Also clunky going into gear and slow to down change? Maybe the gear box valve body? thoughts? If so, anyone know of upgrades available to make the Tip better - more modern.

cheers
chris

When was the last time the transmission fluid was changed? I would start with that first.

You have to rotate the tiptronic button on the lever counter clockwise, engine shut
un-screw the middle button,
take a towel and grab the shift lever with both hands and pull up hard.
This should remove the gear ****
get a little grease and dab the metal lever slightly where the leather **** will slide in.
Slide in the leather ****, ALL the way down
screw back the plastic button in the middle, and you're good to go
looks like your leather handle has risen a bit, and the middle button is not pressing the shift lock well
regards

^This is a level of experience I'm guessing a lot of decent Indy's wouldnt know, just throwing parts at the tranny to see what sticks. Hope this solves your issue, OP.

A fluid flush might help. Also, the 993 tip in auto mode shifts like a 1977 Buick.
If you drive it hard the programming changes but I use mine in manual 100% of the time.
