Key Fob Remotes Upgraded for 993s - New Project
 

Hi everyone,

We designed and manufactured a newly upgraded 993 key fob remote.

It is a complete redesign with the latest technology available, but it keeps the original design to hold the car’s overall classic appeal and value.

As you can see it uses a Li-Ion battery for a longer lifetime. We added intelligent software features for ease of use and user feedback.

We'd wanted to wait longer before announcing this but we thought that it would be good to get your feedback right now. What do you guys think?

Yes 100% it fits into the OEM switchblade casing that comes with the keyblade attached.

It will definitely be priced better than the OEM at the dealer.

For now we want to hear what questions and concerns everyone has in order to write up a good page of F.A.Q.s and answers.

How are they programmed? Same as old key? Will there be an expedited way to swap programming from your existing keys to these new keys without going through the DIY directions or a dealer?

i also want to know, as the range on my oem unit is awful ( < 5 feet)

That's in the works for when we have a replacement Immobilizer which is still in R&D.

See the huge antenna coil in the back.

So far tests show twice the distance range.

These will be cross compatible with the OEM keyless entry remotes and our upgraded 993 Key Fobs.

The process to program these new upgraded remotes is exactly the same as the original ones.

We all know that the process explained by Porsche is cumbersome and that's mostly because the OEM Immobilizer was designed to work that way.

To simplify the process for you we can extract the 4 digit PIN code from the OEM immobilizer and bench program the remotes for 100% accuracy.

This is actually a feature -> you cannot easily run through a parkade trying to open a car at a distance so its easily spotted, and the code is not strong so its harder to detect and clone by thieves.

As least that would be my marketing spin. :)

The question for me is what is the advantage or why would I buy a third party Fob? Range? Cost? My batteries seem to last years, so not sure if that is an issue.

Solve the immobilizer issues (which is not in the FOB) and you will have a winner for sure!

Looks good! Does it fit in the Porsche branded key fob case?

Increase distance would be great. Maybe you can make and Apple Watch app while you are at it?

Yes it will fit the original Porsche branded case.

However, our intention is to sell it complete with an identical case without the Porsche logo. That way you'll have a completely new fob.
