Steve, the stock is claimed to be 38/62. Not sure how full the tank would be as this is potentially 160 lbs or so of gas somewhat upfront.

Mark, the Odyssey is not too bad. The autocross crowd now runs with 2lb (sic, 2 lb) lithium batteries. I have 12lb bike battery in my Miata and didn't go to 2lb one because it sits in the lightest corner of the car as it is. But the battery tech is getting crazy.

And, Martin, I can bet none of us drive hard enough

I corrected it to 38/62... Thanks for the correction... Mine was with 1/2 a tank so the extra 80lbs is not insubstantial... As soon as you are in the drivers seat the weight is a little rear biased (depending on seat position) But not by much at all...

I have a 4lb batter that will be going into my car as soon as spring rolls around, thats a 30lb + saving right there.

I think plenty of us drive hard, just not hard and well

Steven, I saw 38/62 in your post, so just a confirmation

Mines 2740# w/ no sunroof, no air, no radio. but w/ weld in roll-bar RS brakes 8.5x18 & 10x18 Forgelines w/ 235/275 NT01, Data acquisition etc.

The HP used by rotating components depends on factors other than weight
a major on is the radius of gyration
another is the rpm

the hp cost of a flywheel is fairly easy to figure out because the geometry, wt distribution and radius are fairly consistent w/ varying weights
the hp cost of 12 vs 25 # flywheel is ~34hp for a 0 to 60mph sprint in 1st gear

for wheel and tire package the typical weight difference is usually not more than 5#/wheel and the radius variation also affects gearing which further complicates things. The best estimate i've been able to come up w/ is ~4hp/wheel for a 0 to 60mph sprint when the radius is held constant and the weight variation is ~5#s /wheel

Not surprisingly the difference is astonishing and in a very good way. It feels like a new car, a different car, a significantly more nimble & capable albeit infinitely more compliant machine. You can definitely feel the DFV effect.

it's hard to describe but also important to note this was a full refresh including all new rear arms and Elephant Sport Hardness bushings at fhe same time so to be fair not fair to compare the Ohlins to Bilstein.

To be fair, I felt the same way when I refreshed my suspension and moved from Bilstein HD to PSS10.

It would be cool to hear a back to back comparison with all other variables kept the same. Hard to do though.

Its great to hear that the Ohlins maintain good compliance as well as performance. They seem like a great option.

Where is everyone finding the Ohlins "Road & Track" suspension for their 993? I can't seem to find it online anywhere, and it's not even listed on Ohlins USA website? Seems like every other Porsche is listed for some reason, but not the 993. I'm weighing these along with Motion Control Suspension (MCS) to replace my Bilstein PSS10's, which I'm not totally thrilled with... Thanks!

Last I checked they are not available in the USA but you can order them from the UK. That said, after exchange rates, shipping, duties you are damn near a set of MCS doubles which will be a better setup.

Ah ok...well that makes more sense. Thanks.
