Default New addition

My first 4-door Porsche. Added a GTS. Joins my 993 Cabrio and my Boxster. I have to get used to the SIZE.

I will make a social comment. So far, the Panamera drivers I've observed has been exemplary horrible. I will stop short of calling them names but it appears that their social skills are, shall we say, lacking.

I hope that a 993 owner and a long-time P-car person, who understands what it's about, can improve the collective perception some.

I will do my best...
Panamera drivers here in the San Francisco area seem reasonable to me.
I see you are located in Boston, where I have seen alot of rude drivers.
Perhps it is a combination of factors that led to your observation.

It is absurd how gigantic a Panamera is next to a 993. I walk by one at work and it's like a lowered Excursion.

Yes and no. I was nearly clipped by a Panamera driver yesterday in Miami while standing on the sidewalk waiting to cross the street. Did it surprise me? No, not really. I saw the car from far enough that I had a chance to step back, predicting that he'll do what he did, which is blindly change lanes and come right towards me. Years of autoross field work told me to move sideways before the idiot loses control and plows into me.

Boston drivers are aggressive but predictable. Panamera drivers in Boston... I seriously think that they feel that buying a Porsche makes them a better driver for some reason. It doesn't. I tend to think that these people "bought the car but not the driving".

I don't know why this is so specific to Panamera. Curious if other people observed the same thing.

Anecdotally, living in the heart of Silicon Valley, and not far from a Porsche dealership, I rarely see a Panamera around here. Folks around these parts buy Teslas, when buying 4-door family sedans. So I haven't had any interactions with Panamera drivers. Yet.

Default Other choice....

The Tesla was my other choice/option....
Two deal killers:
1. Uninspired interior.
2. Range anxiety.

Teslas, actually, are used as taxis in Amsterdam. I was floored when I saw it. Then it was explained that they get very significant tax breaks and other incentives. I know they get free parking by the subsidized chargers for electric cars there. I thought it's similar in Cali? As much as I'm not a fan of electrics, this is a serious consideration.

Between Reno and SoCal, there isn't an issue other than planning. The charging stations are placed along major highways here. The Model 90 & 100 get 300-350 miles between charges, so I'm not sure there's much of an issue anymore. And they're the fastest car on the road, or near the top.

In my neck of the woods, here on the SF Peninsula, they're like Honda Civic's and Accord's or Toyota Camry's. They're ubiquitous.

GTS's are special. Congrats!

FWIW - I love the look of the new Panamera. I wish they had a full electric version. I'm not very familiar with the Porsche hybrid system which I think is offered on the new Panamera, but given the choice, I'd go full electric any day.
