lol you couldn't afford her anyway. Before her audis she had a 997.1s and a 997.1TT on a dope set of HREs. I regret not buying the turbo off them.

BTW, a thought. A friend of a friend owns a DB9, I believe. It's a very nice, very refined, very proper gentlemen's car. You can just see taking an understated grey beast to the club and enjoying a sip of proper single malt among the friends, surrounded by wood panels, portraits on the walls, newspaper and cigar in hand, fireplace raging and snowflakes softly falling outside. When I become impotent, I'll definitely consider one as well.
I'm there. Aston all the way.

Wait. You knew someone that jumped into a wood chipper to get a car? That's pretty harsh. I think Disraeli was just joking.

As for the Op, I'd go R8. Ironman > James Bond...

No, he was clearing a blockage on the chute on a hog machine - that is a machine that pulverizes wood. Decided he should get into the conveyor to do it - idiot move - and slipped.

Found myself looking at new ones online today.

I owned a V10 a few years ago. First year they were made. Aesthetically maybe the most beautiful car I've ever owned. The gated shifter sounded so mechanical. I love the clicking. Great cars.

You have to admit the Am has a presence about it especially with all the CF bits.

So does this thing, but would you want to drive it?:

Actually these were quite nice. Take it over any new MB made today. Solid, built like a tank and you can actually use the backseats. For a DD it makes for a nice ride.

My problem with the AM is the interior ergonomics. Not the best layout but a nice Sunday driver. I haven't driven the new R8 the previous ones lost their appeal quickly for me and everyone I know who had one sold after a short period complaining they did not thrill the way they expected. I am assuming the new version is a very nice ride.

There are many used GT4s available, some probably just from flippers, but I've got to believe that many are from people who bought and got bored.
Probably a good - great track car, not so much for fun street car.
Just IMO.

I love the idea of it as a lil' GT3. Seems to have great tech, and a focus on driving experience. A GT3 would be overkill for my driving level, but I'm keeping the option of a future GT4 in mind for the mid-range future.
Make sure that you drive one and speak to current owners before you do.
Always better to make an informed decision, not just one based on marketing.
(not directed just at you, we all can potentially benefit from this sage advice )

Default Audi V8 vs V10

A little late to this, but I autocrossed and did some lead follow at NJMP with the V8 and V10 Audis and liked the v8 as much as the v10. I would certainly drive both before disqualifying it. If I remember, the professional Audi drivers there were split on which one they preferred.

I've spent a lot of time in a manual V8 R8 and I have to say I absolutely love it. I'm a huge fan of that engine as I owned an RS4 for a few years so maybe I'm biased a bit. I personally think it sounds better than the V10! Anyways, you owe it to yourself to at least drive the V8. Maybe not the fastest car in the world however neither are our 993's.

The v8 does sound great. I had a rs4 as well, and I've driven r8s with the v8.. the added tq of the v10 is the major bonus. I think it's like 75 ft/lbs. the v8 works way better in the r8 than in the rs4 which I grew bored of very quickly. R8 v8 with a supercharger is awesome, but for the cost of the lower, a v10 is a better buy.
