Well loaded question as all depends on the parts one goes with. Lets set some guidelines. (see link below...)

Lets go with all around good parts, stock if possible in most cases not custom carbon bits all over, hunt for some deals, make some compromises.... not 50K engine builds and other. But to build a nice road going street like build that may see a few track days per year......

whats a better path... a decent/solid 993 for 50K and start from there or a roller with lots of decent parts that need engine, trans, paint and other like here I mean any 993 you chop up with wide body parts will need a near full and complete paint job so no savings there....

hmmmmmmmmm... could it be done for 50K? 60K? .... well aware a crazy engine and trans build can cost 50++++k alone but not suggesting that.

i almost picked this up, but at the end it sold for cad28k which i couldnt justify with little documentation and history.

Unless it had no engine and transaxle the price @$28k CDN seems awfully cheap.....even without documentation/ history. The ony question would be if your vision of a car is in line with where this build was going. Cheers

Car+ about 40-50,000 you should have yourself a nicely restomodded 993.

No engine or gearbox.....all the right carbon/kevlar bits, but not much else.
