OT - Purchasing a car remotely - how to finalize transaction after PPI?
#16
I've purchased a few cars w/o being there in-person.
After PPI's, "RennFax's" and exchange of paperwork (bill of sale/sales contract, records, etc.), phone calls, text messages, emails, etc., googling for seller info, I wired funds to their bank. Title and paperwork were then overnighted. And I'd schedule a car carrier to pickup the car. I haven't had a problem yet. Thankfully.
I'd hope most people wouldn't want to commit a felony, but you never know.

Same here, although only one, I purchased mine sight unseen.

I have done this 3 times cross country and was lucky....all cars showed up as advertised. Getting a shop involved - they may not want to sit on the car until shipper arrives. Also if you are getting "collector car insurance", make sure they will cover the car outside of YOUR garage.
