Default Quick video from my drive last weekend near Monterey, CA

Took a trip with the family last weekend and snuck out for an early morning drive. Put together a quick video (60 seconds) and hope you enjoy it! (Click the YouTube logo on the embedded player so you can watch it in fullscreen.)

And now I wait for you guys to comment on the music and startup smoke...

Was that the soundtrack from a super Marios brothers game??
The car was just clearing it's throat after a smoke??
OOOHHHHHHH!!!!!

Actually....great mini entertainment and enjoyed the recognizable 993 growl!
Thanks!

Thanks, guys! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Even if you're a bunch of smartasses.

And Jakob -- I've watched several of your videos recently too. Good stuff!

Thanks for taking us for a little spin.

Definitely sounds like walking into a 1980's video game parlor.

What did you use to record? My recording attempts have been massive fails.

Thanks! I've been on a faux-80s synth kick lately, and I found this one on YouTube's creative commons list (https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music).

I recorded with a GoPro Hero 3+ Black. I generally think the camera is a pain in the *** and don't use it a lot, and in fact that morning I couldn't remember the camera's WiFi password to do live previews, so I framed all of the shots in that video blind by just pointing the camera in the general direction I wanted. The Hero 4 solves that by having an integrated screen, which is a major plus.

I've seen guys at the track pipe an external mic into their GoPro to get better exhaust recordings, which makes a massive difference. (Sort of how Jakob does his Fister comparo.) I'm surprised mine picked up as much engine noise as it did.

Not really, I was just taking it easy. US-1 isn't a super smart road to drive fast on. Lots of blind pull offs with tourists merging in randomly, fairly crappy surface quality, and it was cool and damp besides.

I'll do a video from Mt. Hamilton or Sunol at some point with more WOT.

Default smoke on start

The exhaust smoke upon your start, particularly on the right...
Is that from oil being burned, for which Rothsport Racing on Oregon sells a cheap fix?

"Rothsport Oil Inlet Check Valves eliminate oil migration from the oil tank to the engine reducing excessive smoking on start up typical of cars that sit for long periods of time".

How about that iconic "clink" when he shuts the door. I love, love, love, that sound. Also may I request more WOT with Vram

Good stuff!!!

ive always wanted to make a video. Just never have gotten around to it.

There will always be critics, good job for putting it out there! Perhaps it will inspire more to post video.

love that part of CA. Spent a lot of time up that way, weekend trips with the wife to Cambria, BigSur etc... beautiful coast line. Applaud your restraint, the roads are inspiring and quite alluring for extra legal speeds.
