info on 993 for sale
I am looking to purchase my 1st 993. Been looking at many examples. Came across this one and wanted to see if I can perhaps get some info from this forum. It is advertised on CL and eBay, sold by a dealer up in Portland.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911-...m=232086360573 Paint looks great and claim no repaint. No accident history. Have some mods I like (aero kit/wheels) and some I would not care for and will remove/change back to stock (2 tone seat/subwoofer). In general outside mods look good to my eyes and the inside mods are so so but can live with it. I was not able to get much info from the dealer about the history of car. No records. Car has been listed for sale for about 2 months. Will have to do a PPI if I decide to move forward but I really wanted to check with this forum to see if anyone know the previous owner or know the previous history of this car. What would be a fair price for this car? Thanks in advance. |
This car has been on the market for quite a while.

That has got to be one of the ugliest interiors I've ever seen. Most of those "upgrades" are BS. If you're willing to spend mid $50's on a car like that I strongly suggest you join RL and post a WTB here. Market has softened a bit and for that price you should have several choices.

I'm not familiar with the car, but the exterior images look nice. But I'd want to see it in person. Drivers side exhaust is sitting strangely. Interior customization is bad IMO. Black, red, and cashmere are too many colors.

How can it be original paint and have that wing/aero kit? And is the interior bits painted? That looks awful.

It's def not a familiar car on RL.
There are some great RL folks in OR, if your serious maybe one of them can do a quick rennfax for you or at least provide some feedback on the dealer's reputation. Outside of the mods, it does come with some nice OEM parts too (sport seats, alum shifter/ebrake, big red brakes etc). If it's actually original paint, clean car fax and overall decent PPI with good leakdown/compression #s I'd say $50K isn't a bad price at all. |
993 for sale
I live in Portland, have seen this car a number of times while stopping at Grand Prix Motors. It sits in a big indoor showroom, with a number of Porsches, MB's, BMW's, Rovers. This car has been for sale for many months, perhaps even close to a year. The story I got is that it's owned(or was) by a couple who are in the business of sound and interior mods- which it certainly has.
What is not shown, and which you should request from the dealer if you're serious, are pictures of the rear interior space. The rear seats are gone, replaced by huge speakers which take up the entire rear space. If you're into Stuttgart boom boxes, this is your machine. The seat color combo and interior are obvious- not for many, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Grand Prix has a pretty good reputation. |
"Comes with few tasteful upgrades" :roflmao:
I cant even imagine how many extra wires are in the THING, Hid Headlights Aftermarket Foglights Built-in Radar Detector New Radio Subwoofers w/ amps Speakers Rearview Camera Phone Thing usb |
That is not the OEM Aero kit. Narrow body. That interior is fugly as hell! no thanks. There are some good OEM bits on it but....

Not crazy about the wing. And that red? Well I have speeding ticket issues already in my slow black 993. I can't imagine what would happen exercising that sound system while cruising down the road. --Michael |
