Default Does the 993 Carrera RS come in two Clubsport versions?

Hello

There is the base 993RS (little spoiler, no extravagant front lip) and the full on clubsport version wih front lip, removed carpets, big spoiler and cage. Is there one inbetween with lip + big spoiler but without cage that is still a clubsport?

Thanks.

no
M001 was the Cup option package no street use possible
M002 was the small wing RS package w/ carpets but otherwise stripped down, can be registered for street use most places(US is the biggest exception)
M003 was the RS/CS option package, no carpets, roll bar, different trans, suspension brace, buckets w/ 6pt belts, battery cut off switch, big wings, single mass flywheel

Some of the RS/CS options could be separately added to an M002 car

Bill,
FYI, all RSCS's that came to Australia did not have roll cages. They could not be road registered here with cages. Most of them then had cages installed if they were to be raced.

and weren't the cages supplied w/ the car uninstalled?

even if not that was a situation unique to Australia

if you don't want to believe me read through Porsche publication WKD 499 620
it clearly defines the items in option M002 and M003 for 993

The cages were not supplied with the M003 cars for Australia, the cars that went to compete in Porsche Cup ended up at places like Fitzgerald Racing services for cage installs.

I believe New Zealand and South Africa also received M003 cars without rollbars.

@Bill Verburg

https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds...3/2351752.html
What would this variant be considered (M001,M002,M003) ? I have tried to understand the three different variants but I am confused by what is what. Would love more information or thoughts. Thanks !

That’s an M002 most likely from Japan where you were allowed to option it with things like the M003 club sport wing package but also add back in “comfort” options such as the sport seats, radio, airbags, power windows, etc. This makes the Japanese cars interesting, however personally I prefer the standard European builds due to their minimalist nature which aligns more to the purist RS ethos

for some reason you see a lot of these imported RS’s in the US in the Japanese spec

I think you were allowed to option the CS spoliler pack in Europe too so it's not particular to Japanese cars. This is a German origin car too so most likely delivered in Germany and then exported to Japan (assuming it's come from Japan) so technically not a Japanese spec car either.

Correct. The 993 RS’s could be ordered with the clubs port aero package and Bucket seats. No roll bar.

Nice info, especially regarding tyre size, which were same as the CUP, IIRC 235 front and 275 rear, not using all the space available, I suppose.

A thing I was thinking of, being my intention to install the killer switch, is how they manage the headlamp leveling system, which was effectively eliminated with the clubsport version, having the red pull lever for the killswitch in place of the wheel for the leveling system (row version)
