Exclamation Secondary Air Injection Fan Update!

Well, my loud fan at startup was not normal.

There was no problem with the fan. It turned out to be the check valve.

There is a tube that runs from the fan to the check valve. The check valve (a glorified diaphram) is a cheap Japanese made piece that can rust rather easily. In my case, the connection between the hose and the valve snapped, allowing air from the fan to come out. That noise I heard was the air (undampered) coming out of the tube into the bay.

If you remove the airbox and grab a mirror, you can see the little ba$tard back there. It was shocking to see the degradation of that piece of metal (60k miles). It is now back to its normal, relatively quiet self.

Just thought I would share. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
