If the problem turns out to be internal, you may want to consider simply swapping in a used tip transmission. Tips are so robust there's barely any demand for used units. I ended up pretty much giving away a 73K mile tip trans not long ago.

Before you do anything expensive make absolutely sure the correct level of fluid is in there.
You mentioned a fresh ATF fluid change. Ensure that your tech did a complete fluid flush with a filter change.

Hi, I had similar problem with my TIP.
Found out it was caused by faulty Lateral Acceleration Sensor.
Very easy to test - just unplug the sensor and it should start shifting correctly in Drive mode.
Sensor is located inside console (carpeted cover on the right side with 2 screws).
Hope this helps

Mind showing me exactly where it is with pics.plugging it out , then did you have to replace it? Thanks .
p/s : Funny , it up shifts when the car is cold ,but when the temperature is warmed up , its back to the usual issue.

There are three solenoid valves in the Tip and all are internal. One needs to do some further diagnosis to determine which one is faulty.
These are dealer parts only.
