Default 2016 Smog Pass. Happy. 20 Year 993 Anniversary

Smogged my 97 993 S this morning. It'll be 20 years old in October. Built in 1996.

Took it out for a nice drive, delivered some flowers to my wife at work (It's our 10th Anniversary), drove to the Smog place, it was deserted so I got right in for my test without even a 5 minute paperwork wait.

Smog tech was a fumblestiltskin, stalled it 3x trying to get the roller moving. One of the stalls he was in Reverse gear.

I was sure a fail was ripe for the picking. Maybe the extra fuel dumped on the cats from his stalling helped b/c I passed with flying colors.

Below is my smog test history, 92.5k miles. All original cats and RSR mufflers.

Default Similar feeling to...

Leaving your Urologist's office, with the Doc finding no issues. Sure your prostate is the size of a small potato, but its not nodular, and your PSA is < than 1.
Sure you feel a little violated, sad to say you have to come back in a year. Hmmmm, it seems maybe I am reliving a bad dream here.

But at least with CA emissions, you get a 2 year reprieve. Congratulations...my 1997 passes CA emissions every time too.

I have almost the same car (1996) , the same mileage (924xxx), having to smog at the same time, in the same state, same result, and same anniversary month (9/25) going 11th. Let's hope you weren't born in 1975.

btw, my smog technician stalled my car 3x as he tried to get it on the rack. He gave up and told me to do it myself.

The tech that got in my car, told me that he hated doing porsches that he stalled then a lot because all the clutches are different. I told him with a serious face, "you will not stall or burn my clutch..." he must have taken heed of my warning, as he took his time and had no issues.
