New 993 Owner: Roadtrip from Freeport, NY to Seattle, WA
Hello, first post here. I picked up a new (to me!) 993 in Freeport, NY and drove it home to Seattle. I stopped at family and friends along the way. All in, I drove 4,622 miles to get it home and I loved every single second of it.
I stayed in Millsboro (DE), Syracuse (NY), Toledo (OH), Milwaukee (WI), Minneapolis (MN), Cresco (IA), Lansing (IA), Rapid City (SD), Bozeman (MT), and finally in my bed (Seattle, WA). Notable sights along the way were The Harley Davidson Museum, Devil's Tower, Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone Park. However, my favorite time was spent driving from Devil's Tower to Yellowstone via the byways. Lots of twisties and straights.
About the car: I am the third owner, the PO had it for 15 years. It has Fabspeed (exhaust, x-pipe, chip), turbo brakes, DAS bolt-in, RS lip, M030 (factory), turbo S brake ducts, Rennline pedals, Sony sound system, RS shifter, and many other goodies. After the trip, mileage is now just over 49k.
The car performed perfectly throughout the journey and drank just over a quart of oil during the many miles it encountered. Fabspeed wasn't too loud for the journey either.
Visiting family near Auburn, NY
Little helper doing a final tech inspection before I leave Syracuse, NY. Note: brake dust and an 18-month old do not mix. They will destroy your clothing.
Mighty Mississippi in downtown Minneapolis, MN.
Free bath in Minnehaha park (Minneapolis, MN). No license plates yet, just temp tags.
Crazy Horse
Mt. Rushmore before the lighting ceremony.
Let there be light!
Twisties to Devil's Tower (in the background)

Old Faithful
Columbia River
Dirty with a mouthful of bugs near the Columbia River.
Getting close to home with Rainier in the background.

That's awesome! Very nice first post & wonderful pics.
I purchased my '95 in late 2005 and drove it from Seattle to Baltimore, via Canada. Loved every minute of the drive.

Wow - what an epic trip, and a beautiful car!
I am planning the first "long" trip with my new-to-me 993 next week, but at only about 500 miles it will in no way compare to your journey.
Still, I'm very much looking forward to it!
