Bump. I know the Porsche Classic shocks are expensive but its intriguing that Porsche engineers set the shock valving for a specific model. Am I to assume the Konis, Bilstiens, KWs are all just generically valved? Or are they 993 specific? Thanks.

those classic shocks were just installed on the car I just bought. I spoke to the guys at Eurowerks that installed them and did the work. They claim they are excellent.

If i had redone the suspension I probably would have gone with ROW height. They told me for street use these would probably be the better choice. Nice thing is I didn't have to pay for them. I'll post driving impressions when I get it.

My car is currently at the dealer (Porsche Classic Center) and is getting the classic shocks.
Was able to get a good deal in combination with some other work.

Interested in other 993 / 993TT experiences.
Hello all,

The '95 I just purchased has the new Porsche classic shocks/struts installed just a couple hundred miles before I bought it. I have nothing to compare it to, because this is my first 993, but I am used to driving contemporary BMW M cars. My 993 drives and handles very well. It appears to be a perfect set up for driving on roads. The car handles backroads with ease and the suspension never seems to get out of shape. Their is no lean or bounce. The work was done at Eurowwerks in CT. Cost as follows. Right and left shocks 933.333.051.38. $592.41 each. Right and left struts 993.343.041.40. $724.08 each, labor $980, stabilizer link mounts 993.333.073.04 $450.44, 4 bellows 993.343.505.01 $89.16, labor $390, Four wheel alignment $470. I think that's it for the shocks/ struts. They did the brakes, and a LONG list of other stuff (over 11k in total) and then decided to sell the car to buy an "S".

I thought I was going to lower the car to row height and get the sport shocks/struts. After driving the car about 500 miles that would be a very silly thing to do.... right now anyways.

Hope this helps

I am seriously considering the Classic shocks. I have used Bilstein HDs and ROW springs for 6 years now and I've gotten more sensitive to a harder ride over bumps, particularly things like tar strips with sharper impacts to them. I will also flip out my 5 year old MPSS tires for new MP4Ss next year, that should help make the ride more compliant, too. I use the car for weekend spirited road driving.. .
