i got the midnight blue blahs
i'm trying to re-upholster my midnight blue leather 993tt sport seats. but i've obtained samples from both gaah and classic9 in what they have listed as the official porsche oem midnight blue leather. well as the pic shows, it is way too dark and in no way matches my oem leather. this has nothing to do with fading of my seats as anyone with 993 factory midnight blue leather interior knows that this sample is not even close.
anyone know why there is a mismatch in my 993 midnight blue and the samples send to me by these very reputable and well-respected professional shops?
i can only speculate that "midnight blue" might have changed in hue since the the 993 generation? bizarre. anyway, any advice on how to proceed is welcome, thanks.

May also try Tony Garcia at www.autobahninteriors.com Great reputation.
He was great to work with for seats for my SC trying to get the right color/tone/texture match via email and phone and samples. Shipping for you south to him in California would not be too bad. My seats came back looking better than new - was worth the $$ for me. Good luck.

That sample does look a bit off. I hadn't come across midnight blue interior before. How did that differ to metropol blue? Maybe thy got the samples mixed up?

Another thought...if the extent of the damage is limited to what we see in the pictures, this can be corrected to near perfection for pennies on the dollar compared to a recover.

I have the same problem with my Midnight Blue leather. Since I live near Classic 9, I took my new center armrest there and the two samples Bob had were not even close to being the right color. The armrest was a new old stock part, so the leather was not faded. He suggested that I leave the arm rest and he would try to find a supplier who manufactures a match.
Here are the two samples on the armrest for comparison:

While I'm not an expert on this specific color, it is safe to say that color shades may indeed vary from series to series, even though the name is the same.
