There are more than a few here that like the 4 spoke wheel. It can be "upgraded" to provide better performance and tactile feel.

OP, what about painting your black engine grill to body color like I did? Or go split grill?

I'm of a similar mind --- I find that the 4-spoke wheel feels a bit more period correct. That said, I'm definitely not part of the "originality police". I do prefer the way the 4 spoke wheel looks. I elected to upgrade the tactility of the 4-spoke wheel (rather than change the design-language of the wheel by moving to a 3-spoke-996-wheel) by refacing the surfaces (include the airbag) with leather.

FWIW ---- If you're satisfied with the performance of your car, esp with the supercharger, perhaps you may consider changing the ambience of the driving experience rather than addressing the driving experience itself?

Retrofitting the footwell lights, as banal as this sounds, was one of my favorite modifications. I appreciate that modification every time I get in my car in my garage --- even if I'm not driving it. The DIY instructions are in my signature.

No carbon fiber though
If you wanted to, you could recover the stock shift **** (And the handbrake lever to match) in a thicker, higher quality leather, to subtly improve the tactile experience.

I used a much thicker leather when recovering the shift **** and handbrake lever.
The first pic is of the stock C4S shift ****/boot.

I used to think the 3 spoke didn't quite work in the 993 but I then got a leather airbag for it and it makes it look a hell of a lot better. The 3 spoke does offer that little bit of extra leg space - not massive amounts like a small raid wheel does, but enough to make you want to stick with the 3 spoke over a 4 spoke if space is an issue.

I'd consider fitting a weighted shift **** as that does make the gear changes a lot nicer than with the light stock *****.

Indeed - I agree with this statement. I changed from a C2 shift **** (black plastic shift pattern, very light weight) to a C4S shift **** (heavy, weighted shift **** with metallic shift pattern) and it added a certain je ne sais quois to the gear change.

What are you after? Cosmetic changes? Than, what's the point of supercharger and suspension? What I'd recommend is a set of good tires and some autocrosses to understand what the car can and can not do. The rest kind of sounds superfluous. Of course, 996 steering wheel is both easy and useful as an upgrade. But, again, secondary.
I originally updated the suspension for two reasons, to lower the ride height and I was replacing stock components with 50K miles on them. I had expected it to effect the ride some how but it did not. I have heard many say how updated suspension transforms the way the car drives. I am sure the suspension on the car is fine for even aggressive driving on the street. The point of the supercharger is simple, a base 993 lacks grunt and is more of a momentum car, i wanted a little more POWER!!!!

List of upgrades depends on what you are not happy about in the car.
"Don't fix if it ain't broken". Spend the money on driving it - DE, car control clinic, maybe autocross.

I agree with NYC993.

Where is the car lacking for you?
