Tip when installing Turbo S Ducts

Jim,
Why did you decide to go with the extra square connectors as opposed to just wiring in the factory round connector to the turbo s duct lamps and plugging them in directly to the factory harness?

Just stealing a page out of GMorat's book. I'm experimenting with alternative turbo scoops and lights. The extra square connectors allow me to plug and play various turbo scoop and light combinations without having to reconnect the wires each time. I suppose you could buy more sets of the round connectors and hard wire each unit, but at $70 per pair the square connectors are a better solution.

I have Turbo S ducts with LED's operated by the fog light switch. To get DRL's, I removed the relay in R31 and jumped as shown in your picture. That did not work. The LED's still work only with the fog light switch. By the way, the LED's work with the fog light switch even with the relay removed and not jumped. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Just finished installing my turbo ducts using the VW connectors ($53 in BC). Very simple and elegant approach to the wiring requirement. Thank you for the recommendation.

None of my VW dealerships have those in stock but can be ordered for $29.16 each round connector
$21.00 for each wire set
Didn't know if I misread the original post where total was ~$40. At my local dealer it costs around $100 for everything.
Sound about right with what everyone else is getting them for?

To clarify my post, my $53 total cost from the local VW dealer is approx $40 USD. I paid $14.28 USD per round connector, $3.50 USD per wire set and the balance was taxes.
Hard to believe that those of us north of the border are actually paying less for something...

I also purchased directly from the VW dealer (one day to order the parts), and the cost all in was about $70 for both sets. The round connectors were priced just under $20 - but the wire connectors which have large copper male leads go for about $18 per set. If you're buying the wires for $3.50/set how about buying two pairs for me!
