Post 993 Service Manuals and TSB's

Just got a set of workshop manuals and all I can say is WOW! All that information should keep me occupied for a few months.

Unfortuantely, the package that I got didn't have the turbo supplements. I know that you can get them from the my-porsche.com site, however, I was hoping that there were some rennlisters out there who had the turbo supplements and a normally aspirated (NA) 993 and wouldn't mind parting with them??

Another good source of information is the <a href="http://www.AllData.com" target="_blank">www.AllData.com</a> site. They have some service procedures ( looks like they were copied from the service manuals ), and TSBs. I ordered a subscription for my 993 TT. It was $24.95/year. That's a great read as well.

Jeff, NONE of the 993 manuals come with the Turbo "supplements"; gotta shell out more green stuff. Check the site below.

The back issues of the Porsche Technical Bulletins I find valuable too; much supplemental info not in the workshop manuals (or that supplements it). I stopped with my '98 bulletin when pretty much all the info was on the new water pumper "garbage". Might get the '96-'98 issues.

Porsche also issues updates to the shop manual; I stopped getting these but probably should have continued. beleive you can get update ntocies by going to the PCNA site and E-mailing them.

Jeff,

You need to buy the Turbo specific manuals in addition to the 993's.

WKD-483-2214 / 911 Turbo, 1996-97, 2 Volumes / $130.57

As to the TSB's, you are better off buying them in print form from <a href="http://www.my-porsche.com/" target="_blank">MY Porsche</a> . All the 993 TSB's are contained from '95 to '00.

Note, to insert a link you just highlight the url, hit [control + c] (to copy) hit the URL box below in the instant UBB code section, and to plant the url in the box hit [control + v] (to paste). Good luck.

If you win the auction and want to sell the Turbo Volumes to me, that would work out.

DOH, I guess you called me on it.

I think that sometimes the hunt ( ie. wheeling and dealing ) is more exciting than the kill.

Just going out and buying a new set would almost seem too easy. <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />

Jeff
Its now $250 minimum to play eBay and My Porshe is $287 for the normally aspirated set. I to like the hunt but this one has past the bargin zone.

Kevin
thanks for the tip
