Default Thoghts on this ebay listing (riviera blue)?

I've been kinda-sorta looking for a 993 cabriolet the last few months, and I had my heart set on arena red, but really I'm a fan of any interesting color.

So I came across this listing:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/182064804741

Thoughts?

I didn't know I wanted riviera blue...but this car is gorgeous. My only problem is the seats. I *HATE* grey interiors, and these look grey to me.

Couple questions:
1) Are the seats as bad in person as they are in the pictures?
2) Would it be heresy to change the seats to a different color?

Very nice. There's enough black already in place that installing black seats, door cards, etc., should really not be an issue.

Default seats

The seats are heated, at least the driver's side, and it has variable lumbar support, which is a rarity. Also the softer leather option. So, just sit down and drive it away.

$65K for a nearly 100K mile cab. Yes, I know, Riv Blu, but still...

Gotta love the 993 market!

Proceed very carefully with this dealer and read the thread below. Expect them to over promise and under deliver.

Since you asked; the color is very nice imo. The grey seats look good as well with all the other black. All grey is not my favorite either but this looks nice. Plus the color will stay cooler than black seats for example. It does appear to be aggressively priced especially for a cab with those miles. Get an independent ppi first and then make your decision.

If you're serious, with nearly 100k miles you do need to review records and service history, at least what they have, and do a PPI- you probably know this.
The turbo twist wheels are a nice option, lighter than others, the yellow calipers have been painted. They do accent the exterior well.
Price may be high, given miles and not a lot of options, but the color is undeniably gorgeous and raises the bar.

I was thinking the same thing. Obviously the color grants a price premium, but some other things jumped out as interesting.

Were the deviated colors an option? I'm no fan of gray interiors but the black carpet on the floor/door cards looks very nice I think. Make the door card inserts black and that would look sharp.

Also, the drivers seat is 12-way heated and passenger seat is 8-way heated, I wonder how rare that combo is?

Also some tasteful mods look to have been done-996 shifter, gauge rings, yellow calipers, and its been lowered. Add a 3-spoke wheel, aluminum pedals, some wide ovals,a nd it would look great.

The miles are a bit high, but it's 20 years old at this point. If the PPI checks out, it could be a really nice find!

There's an Arena Red cab on BAT - the pictures certainly don't do it any justice but check it out (no affiliation)

Not saying it's a good car or a bad car...but someone apparently hit the buy it now without first doing a PPI. People overpay for these cars all the time! My guess is it's off to Europe.

Agreed, especially at this mileage!
