Default stupid question re: swaybar

I'm having a big brain fart here, but I'm in the midst of replacing my rear sway bar bushings.

Have the new guys in there, tightened very loosely.

Do I final torque them with the suspension loaded or unloaded?

Also, torque spec on these bolts?

Thanks very much.

Loaded is ideal, but the car would need to be on an alignment rack (or similar). If tightened with the suspension unloaded, I'd think you're still fine, as the bar will rotate within the bushings (their shape is captured between the crossmember and the retaining strap).

For future reference... The most important thing is the bar rotates freely.

With both end links disconnected, tighten the bushing bolts, then see if it rotates freely/smoothly. If not (which is common with aftermarket bushings) then you need to file down the bushing or add spacers under the bracket.

Once the bar moves correctly the rest is irrelevant.

If you have adjustable end links, those would obviously be set with the suspension loaded.
