What did you do with your 993 today

Making steady progress. Got the valve-cover and timing-chain gaskets on.
Now to clean the SAI ports before I go any further. This has proved to be a much bigger P.I.T.A than I originally thought, they are severely clogged and did not give an inch after hours of drilling, solvents and compressed air. I am letting the chemicals do their work and letting them soak overnight. Can't take any shortcuts here, this little miracle of 90's emissions technology has kept my car from passing emissions longer than I care to admit...
In the meantime, i have been cleaning and cleaning and cleaning for what feels like all eternity. 180k miles of accumulated grease, oil and grime is proving to be worthy opponent. I think this is as clean as things are going to get. Yes, I know, it's not that clean - taunt me with pictures of your immaculate engines if you must - but I am tired of living in filth and inhaling inhaling fumes, there's more to life. Stay tuned. Send beers.

I did not take pics and that is a shame but I let my 15 year old grandson drive my 993. He has a learners permit and has just recently learned how to drive a stick on his dad's Jeep. He asked me if he could drive the 993 and so we took it out late yesterday on some back country roads. I did check with my insurer first to make sure I had coverage! LOL! It was a proud moment for me as he did a great job. I think dirt bike riding has helped a lot as he has been doing that for a few years. Anyhow it was cool to sit there and work with him on the driving of the car.

That was a good thing to do.
Last year i took my son to a PCA autocross to thrash his subaru a week after he got his driver’s license at sixteen, and another a month later.
Today i put him in the 993 for three runs. Had to take it away when he got within one second of my best time...

Sway bars
Front needed the suspension carrier bolts removed to get the bushing clamp off. The bar came out without removing the wheels. 1 hour.
Rear was done in 30 minutes
Install turbo sway bars I got from dbr73 19 and 21 mm to replace 17 and 19. Went on easy.
