I've seen Ron's video, this track does demand respect.
I reserved a carport, is that what your under in the above pic ?
I was tempted to sign up for CVR. I hear it's a good group to run with. Ron's video is a great tool, and Ron is a super guy. And yes, that's the carport. Worth every dime, rain or shine. It will keep you in the shade most of the day, and allows you to drive strictly on asphalt and concrete - no gravel sticking to your hot tires like all the other parking.

Have a great time out there!

My son took the 993 on a quick trip to Wisconsin for the weekend... we always stop for a picture in Argyle WI at the small city park. Have parked many a Porsche at that spot over the years on the way to Road America via the fantastic WI back roads!!

Finished ripping out all the old carpet, removed the upper and lower dash (and installed the old glovebox onto the new lower dash) - as well, I had the A and B pillars dyed --- I'm at the 50% mark with the interior color change project --- everything from henceforth is installation --- new carpets, new interior pieces, etc. Whew!

I must have read 20 different threads on removing the lower dash and CCU ---- I was well prepared and the removal was uneventful. Still, the 2 nuts behind the CCU and the radio holding in the lower dash are kind of buggers to remove ....

My wife and I drove up to Arcada and back for a wedding. On then way back we took the scenic route "Avenue of Giants" filed with many huge redwoods. I even found one that I could drive my 993 through. Three days of driving and approximately 500 miles later, I'm wiped out!

Went to Continental to see how the respray was going. Body is in primer and getting sanded. Doors, fender and sunroof panels were ready, and I took them with me to store in the garage for reassembly when everything is ready. Hood, mirrors, engine lid & spoiler will be done soon.

Went to get a burger.

Jackson Hole/Airline Diner near LGA- glimpse of the Porsche

Then changed my oil for the first time myself. Took many hours checking and rechecking but got it done!
Used the Cactus jacking up method and a combination of the Jackal's Racetrack and the pcarworkshop diy to get it done. Now that I've done it once, should be reasonably quick next time.

25% done

Today was another good one in the trip from California to Florida. Woke up in Kentucky and drove through Virginia (a really little bit), Tennessee, North Carolina and back into Tennessee. That meant I passed through the Smoky Mountains and managed to get my first run through the Tail Of The Dragon. No photos from the latter as there was almost no traffic and I didn't want to stop and then get caught behind something.

Part way through the Smoky Mountains.

At the end of the Tail Of The Dragon run.

Tail of the Dragon was good, however, I've done around 4000 miles between SoCal and Tennessee in the last 3-4 weeks and 1800 miles in an E46 M3 just before this trip and found better driving roads elsewhere. One in northern Georgia that I really don't know where as I stumbled upon it and some in eastern California, Utah and Colorado were great. I prefer more flowing roads where you can sit at 35-45mph.

Still, pleased to have done it and worth the slight detour.

Installed the Continental Radio w/Bluetooth (from Tore B). Love it. Already had installed Focal 6.5" up front and Polk's in the deck.

Streaming music and taking calls via bluetooth in the car is a nice upgrade...AND it looks more period correct than the Kenwood deck there previously.

I also installed Tore B LED light kit for all taillights, market lights. Converted over rear fogs to brake lights...another nice upgrade from aa safety perspective.

Hey 95_993, how did you get the piece that says Porsche on the radio? I have the same radio but it says Continental in its place.
