The buyer probably figured you can always make more money but he can't be guaranteed that the car he wants Will be available in the futurein the future so he just bit the bullet and got what he wanted

red on red is rather interesting, but that wood!!!

low, low miles and within estimate. pretty amazing price, though. should make Turbo S owners very happy!!

Gonna hit all the auctions this coming week in Scottsdale. Lots of Porsche eye candy everywhere... can't wait...
Have a feeling stuff will go for crazy money.

(Saw Dario Franchitti at a function yesterday and asked him about his long hood- said it was now in Scotland, but with a sly smile said he was probably getting another one this coming week...)

Yeah, we discussed this car a ton already. I think the overwhelming amount of Red on Red should make it trade at a discount. But going forward who knows. Not my taste.

on the other hand, the uniqueness of red/full red interior will appeal to many. the wood, otoh, will appeal to very few. i'd pull the rims (keep if ordered that way) and put something on with more aesthetic appeal.

i will also be in scottsdale on wednesday - looking forward to the auctions!!

You can never tell who is in the audience at one of these auctions.
We take some of our cars to the Auctions America in Fort Lauderdale every year.
Low mile air cooled Porsches & Ferraris always bring big bucks. We will have a few cars there

Considering the mileage that is not bad. I know of a 94 with 24k that brought almost the same amount privately. If it went to auction it would have brought more than the TT. A friend of mine was there and said most of what he saw was crap.

They had this 94 turbo that was bid up to $220k and I am 95% sure this is the same car I tried to buy back in 2002 with 2 salvage titles. It was never crashed but was recovered from a chop shop in pieces.

Here are some detailed pictures. As you can see it is in **** poor condition and to bid to $220k is just plain stupid.

This car had the same damage and identifying marks yet is now being sold as a one owner, low mileage and no mention of its sordid past. Shows that you have to be very careful what you spend your money on and that not all is as advertised.

Auctions seem to be the only way to sell a car
