Looking at the price of these 993 S's at what price do you buy a car like this:
https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...30k-miles.html
And then do the trans swap?

Well the problem as I see it is that a lot of people are looking for manual cars to drive, not to stare.
At the same time there is a pool of buyers who are going to spend $60K+ on a 993, but they are looking for originality and therefore a gearbox conversion would not make sense.
Sadly, IMO the only thing this C2S has going for it is the badge. The color is questionable and the transmission is wrong. Which is why it hasn't sold.

I agree completely that a manual converson doesn't make sense on a low mile car unless it is bought so cheap that it doesn't matter. Why pay high prices for low miles to just bastardize a car? Might as well get a cheap one if it is going to be cut up.

I just tossed that one out for an example. The color does not bother me. For someone who wants an S and does not want to pay 80, 90 or more it may be a reasonable idea.
How much would it cost to pay someone to do the swap. Is there any value in the tip box when you take it out?
I guess my thinking is that's not a high price for those miles. Do the swap and drive it for years. Whats an 80k mile C2S 6 speed go for these days? 75k or more?
Makes me laugh when I think about the 97 C2S black/black with hard back seats and 18's I sold years ago.

A Tip to Manual conversion is not cheap to do and you should really have any donor transmission rebuilt do you know precisely what you have. The ECU needs to be re-programmed as along with all the different hardware.

At what ever the selling price of your car is towards the purchase of a manual transmission car.
