However, if done profesionally, a urethane paint/claer coat will do the job perfect as well. It will hold a lot of heat, abuse and cycles, but as we know, heavily tracked cars will suffer sooner or later of paint problems on their brake calipers regardless what method you use to paint them (unless you go natural color or the like anodize process)

I went from std. black calipers to red in my C2 as the clear coat was peeled off as well.

Stickers does work perfect for regular use of the car (most street usage) and very light trackdays, also they look at any angle and mid distance like OEM painted letters, but a very close look up you will notice they are stickers on the caliper that protude over the paint once the clear coat seal it with th rest of the paint. I have done many calipers this way.

I chose to go with white letters (template) for my red caliper in my C2, but for my set of Brembo on my Skyline GTR I was lazy to go through this process and used vinyl letters diectly on them, but this car is heavily tracked and sees a lot of heat, so the vinyl bubbles up a bit and later the red dot burned a bit with a blackish color....so if OP will track his 993 I wll advise him to go just like I did with my red calipers and avoid this probem.

I did this in my big reds 993tt, works OK, it hides the peeled off look at first glance, but upon closer inspection (if you are a dick about details and have eye of eagle then.....well you know) you will see this" band aid".

I think you made the right choice with red. Its a dark color like the black and they always go well together.

I have the yellow seat belts and the "S" after Carrera is painted yellow as well on the tail. I would like to take credit for the color combo, but I bought it that way.

Mr. Woolery,

May I ask who you used to get your caliper's refinished? I am looking for someone to re-do mine in CA.

Thanks,
Sam

I'm had mine done by BBi Autosport, as an add-on "while you're in there" to my suspension upgrades. I'm fairly certain they sent it out to a subcontractor, but I don't know who.

I absolutely LOVE the car. It is setup exactly the way I would have done it. All I had to do was to add the SSK from FD, and add the LED high beams. Drives wonderfully. I still consider myself very lucky to have found such a fine 993.
