Question interior part identification

I am trying to identify a trim part that goes on the doors. It screws into the end of the top rail (?) of the door. By top rail I mean the leather covered part that the alarm light protrudes through. This cap is at the front of the door and is held in place with one screw in the middle, it is approx 4” long and 1.75” wide. It has a textured finish with one phillips head screw holding it in place. When the door is closed you can not see the part. On the back of both pieces (one driver side one passenger side) are the numbers 911.555.422.00 and 911.55.421.00. I called the Porsche dealer here in town and they do not list that number. I will try to get a picture of it this weekend and post it if no one knows what the part number is. Thanks for the help and sorry about the bad description.

Dan,

That part you mentioned, is call a "CAP" according the parts catalog.

You do have the correct parts number, but it is listed under a 2nd part number for a "black" piece.

911 555 421 01C (Left)
911 555 422 01C (Right)

Try to give your dealer those number and see if they can pull it up.

BTW, my "CAP" also have a hairline crack in the middle too, but I just super glued it together. (I assume that's why you want to buy a new one)

try this agin.....

Robin,
Both my caps are broken with a piece missing, bought the car this way. I am going to try and put the mufflers on the rest of the way this weekend. Since the daytona race is this weekend all the rush is over. Thanks for the part numbers!

by the way hitting the "tab" key does not have the desired effect.

Dan
