Default Do generic alarm remotes work...

There are generic alarm remotes available that are programed by "reading" the signal from the factory alarm remote. I have used these with other cars with success. Has anyone tried this with the 993?

1) find the manufacturer/brand you want to buy
2) ask them if they work on the 993

It's probably safer than asking if generically they all work or not. Some might, some might not.

I would say that it wouldn't work. The manual for the alarm says that it is protected against scanning/grabbing devices that can take the code from your factory remote. This sounds like a similar concept to the way the generic remotes work. I would be very concerned about the security of my car if this did work.
