I prefer to use canola vs peanut oils.

You don't need to know jack $hit about oil. All you need to know is what Steve Weiner recommends. Go read his posts. He recommends at least 3 great, easy to find, oils for your 993.

Yes, motor oil is recommended for the 993 (but I prefer Dos Equis).

RTFM, do a search. If still unclear, you haven't RTFM and your 993 - no, ALL your Porsche - ownership privileges are revoked.

I read your old posts and the three motor oils were 15W50 or 20W50.
Motul
Brad Penn
Mobil v-twin.

What do you run in the late Fall cooler temps here in Chicago?

There are many, many, many oil threads already and are easily searchable by Google and RL. So, new threads are mercilessly flamed (since it means you didn't obey Rule#1 of RL). Now you know, so consider yourself edumahkated...

(most of the above in jest and don't take it personally. We've all been there sometime in our RL history and been similarly bludgeoned!)

I ran Mobil V-Twin 20-50 from February till Thanksgiving. The rest of the time the car was in winter storage in my heated garage.
