I remember reading a thread regarding the use of 996/997 GT3/2/TT/Cup gear sets in a 993 G50 but I can't seem to find it again.

Are the gear sets interchangeable with ours? If not can they be used with modification? Do the dog rings jive with the 993 sliders?

Trying to determine all of my gear set options as I'm considering a regear.

Here is my thread discussing using 997 GT3 1st-5th and 996 Gt3 6th. It is possible to do, Matt from Guard goes over some of the technical details on page 2 of the thread.

I have the gears, but have not done the work yet as I have been distracted by the 3.8 build and then driving.

Thanks for the link, that was the thread I was trying to find. I'm interested in your re-gear project, I like the 997 GT3 ratios and like that the gear sets are priced a bit lower. Am I correct in assuming you're using the entire 997 GT3 main shaft as 1 and 2 appear to be fixed?

Do the 997 GT3 3rd/4th/5th use symmetrical or asymmetrical syncro (dog) teeth (i.e. will they work with the 993 sliders or do you have to either change the dog rings or use 997 sliders)?
