Default Oil leak from A/C lines

The picture is the rear left side wheel well facing forward. Are these tubes are A/C lines? I noticed an oily film at the joint of these lines. I'm wondering if the joint is leaking and spilling the compressor oil out.

I'm thinking you're right and some further investigation is in order!

Is your AC still cold? Hook up some gauges and check the pressure.

Those joints use O-rings.

I can not say for sure but if I'm looking at the right joint that does not look like the type of connector that would hold a/c pressures.

Yes, that's an ac hardline union. It was already asked, is your ac blowing cool? If it is losing oil, then it is likely losing refrigerant. If it's not empty, then you'll have to get the system evacuated before you proceed. Get the o-ring sizes/ part#, open up the unions, replace o-rings lubed with Nylog Blue. See if it holds vacuum and recharge. You might have to add back some PAG oil since that portion of the line and union are a low point in the system, so you may lose a decent amount of oil when you open up the union.

Awesome, thanks for all the advice. I'm going to get the system evacuated and replace the seals.

If the AC runs cold as in a good 30-40 Degree drop from the air inlet to outlet with the car above idle (driving) using a thermometer your brakes feel good and you are not dripping engine oil on the floor I would avoid focusing on such things as small oil leaks can produce the staining you see where the leak is so small it does not warrant addressing.
