I found a photo of the pins on a for sale ad for 1996 993 ECU and you are correct, there are 88 pins in total.

However i wonder if all of these are active, ie connected to a corresponding wire on the female plug. You might be able to (carefully!) remove the tape or sheathing on the wire bundle and count the number of wires that are actually in the bundle.

it would not be the first time i have seen porsche use connectors where all the positions are not in use.

They are not all active but most of them yes. Anyway they do not match 55 pins DME and thats way also wiring is different. I need wiring for this 88 pins DME.

Ah, now i see your dilemma - the wiring diagram identifies 55 positions (a few unused) but those don’t correspond to the 88 positions on the connector. Found some info posted by our guru Bill Verburg on another forum which I hope will help you:

I have this guru pin description already. The problem is that the rest of the wiring dont comply either. For example i did not find any ignition module under the sewt but find two ignition modules in engine area. Long story short i need wiring schematic for 96 model as it is com0letly different and so 95 is not usable

OK, I had a look through other sources and I think the Bentley manual may have the updated ignition diagram you need. Check your PM.

Big thx to Bcameron he send me correct 88pins DME wiring which match the 1996 US model.
So now i can confirm wiring is OK and i need to get new DME ignition drivers. It seems it is imposible. I contacted Bosch but the do not know the component. I fix the car up to 90% and now i dont want to give it up. Any chance to source compoment BOSCH 30045???? See picture

It appears I can’t Private Message you as you’re a new member? Apparently you’ll need to make 3 or 4 posts and wait 30 days for PM to be enabled according to this thread:

https://rennlist.com/forums/rennlist...e-3-posts.html

I suspect that if you buy a membership subscription, you’d get PM ability right away but i don’t know for sure.

Alternately you could post your email address here and I could correspond with you that way but bear in mind your email will be open to public view in case you have privacy concerns.
