Default New Key Heads

I don't think this was posted yet.
No big news either, but as a 993 fan, I found it interesting enough to share.

The new key heads from Porsche -as used in the "key conversion kit" - now have a LED inside.
It performs a lot better than the poor halogen bulb they used for +20 years.

If memory serves, there is a DIY for installing an LED in the old key head...

Its either here, pelican, or on Mike J's DIY site

The link is correct. You have to scroll down the page a couple inches.

I can't help thinking that if you need a light in order to locate your ignition switch, you're probably not driving your car enough...

Did this to my two keys and it is an easy DIY with great results. I did one more thing which further improved this DIY, and that was to solder the top wire for a better connection. Just don't overheat the battery or POP goes the weasel. I do suggest safety glasses.

I did the LED mod to two keys several years back. It was easy to do and a HUGE improvement!
