Well, in the end, as is noted here and elsewhere, you're OK, and the ins pays the amount you agreed on with them. The car goes on in spirit, albeit in a newer tub. Hopefully you'll buy another car to scratch your itch, and hopefully, it's another 993 or other Porsche variant to give you reason to continue on here on this forum.
