Viken,

Sorry! Should have been more specific. The 3200 GT's engine is very punchy but not very refined or linear in its power delivery. This certainly makes it exciting but the lack of refinement becomes evident very quickly.

I am certain that the new (thinly disguised) Ferrari derived engine will be more linear in it's power delivery and a much more desirable package than the older twin turbo unit.

Your point about the re-positioning of the gearbox improving the handling dynamics is an interesting one cos one complaint about the old car I had was that your were never certain what it was going to do mid-corner. This was due to the non-linear power delivery combined with a slightly nervous/twitchy and detatched handling balance that the car displayed at higher cornering speeds.

I certainly think that the coupe with the new engine/tranny and suspension package might turn out to be a GT that one needs to be take very seriously indeed.

Just wish they kept the old boomerang tail light arrangement <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />
