FYI: Alice's Restaurant: PCA/GGR Boxster Brunch is every other month, on the first Saturday, as per their website. They meet in a private room at the rear of the restaurant. Not sure of the room's max. capacity. Food is great though! May want to check with Alice's before committing……….. Also, biker's favorite drive on Skyline. Might consider meeting somewhere (around Woodside) and tour thru La Honda, out to the Coast and north to HMB for "lunch on your own" by breaking up into smaller groups. Not hijacking OP but only offering other suggestions.

Rick, the suggestions are welcome. Alice's is a popular destination and there are other good options around there too. I know the Boxster Brunch people and I'll reach out to George and Carol who usually coordinate the breakfast for that gathering so we can either join up or not crowd each other out.

While Alice's is great it just so happens that quite a large number of other enthusiasts know this as well and that area can get pretty busy on the weekends. I'm wondering if it may also work to do something informal like Starbuck's. There is a good one with enough parking in San Mateo off of De Anza in the Crystal Springs Shopping Center. I've seen other gatherings of car enthusiasts there before.

Props for trying to herd the cats.
I'll be back with the 996 Turbo this weekend, so anything is a go for me unless a business ER calls. (Getting enthused about putting the 4S back on the road to keep at an AZ house TBD.)
We had probably 500 cars at the Gainey Ranch deal last Saturday, with probably 100 Porsches. 3 993s that I saw......

I'm always interested in meet-ups/drives in the Bay Area. As for New Years Day, you're up against competition with the event that Livermore Porsche is hosting - Mines Road out of Livermore up and over Mt. Hamilton and down in San Jose. I took the Turbo last year - it was a really good drive with a bunch of cars...

Pushing your drive to the Saturday after New Years may get a bigger turn-out?

Wow, its great to see there is lots of interest. Props to jcochran1 for being willing to haul all the way from Sac to the Santa Cruz/Peninsula area.
Based on majority consensus, it definitely looks like the first Saturday of the new year will be the event date. It also looks like we're nearing on 20 cars now which will be quite the turnout! I'm liking the idea of gathering up in San Mateo rather than Alices. We'll definitely be crowding out Alices with this many cars.
Mathfuzzy is working on Canepa for us. Other destination recommendations are welcome too. I'm wondering I might be able to get Tyrolean Inn to serve us lunch on a Saturday (they are normally just open for dinner that day).
The route in my mind right now is this:
Meet in San Mateo ~9:30-10:00 AM, take 92 to Skyline (35), drive down 35 all the way to 9, take 9 to Ben Lemond (with possible detour on 236 to see some more trees), Lunch in Ben Lemond, leave Bend Lemond for Scotts Valley, tour Canepa, from Canepa folks can scatter, but those heading north can hop on 1 and possibly stop for an early dinner and sunset in Pescadero or Half Moon Bay depending our timing, from there inland and home word.
92 to 35 to 9 to 236 to 9 is a good 60+ miles of scenic redwoods and twisties.

If looking for another suggestion for location, then EuroSunday meets once a month here in Portola Valley just off 280/Alpine:
