C4sdave mentioned a specific Gulf Blue C4S he was after. A month later I happened to come across that specific car, back in CO. When he saw my photos, the Crevier license frame confirmed it was the right 993: it 'clicked' as he remembered Crevier is where it was advertised long ago.
After waiting ~a year without response from the CO owner's broker, I finally heard from him. Dave promptly bought the long-sought car from him.
So at the time, all the word 'Crevier' meant to me was the place Dave said had once housed the Gulf Blue C4S.

Going further back:
If anyone can find an archived copy of this now-defunct webpage of Crevier's old for-sale ad, please do. Like to have all the original photos & text.
Thanks to RLer Campy, this much remains:
1997 Porsche 911 Carrera 4
This very special 1997 993 C4S was special ordered through a California dealer in September of 1996 for November production. Special ordered in Gulf blue with Black leather. The car is equipped with the following options: In dash CD player, AREO kit, Sport seats, motor sound package, Sport suspension, Hi Fi sound package, Porsche crest on seats, Seat backs painted Gulf blue, red seat belts, carbon-leather steering wheel, rear storage-no seats. Every single piece of documentation inclusive of original order form, sales receipt, customer delivery reciept, service documentation and the window sticker SIGNED BY FERRY PORSCHE are included with the car. The car is as new with only 6,235 documented miles. This is one for a serious collector of rare Porsches.
The only known remaining photo of it at Crevier:

Now, present-day: While winter's first snow & artic winds hit friends back home, I had the opportunity for a brief business trip to Costa Mesa, CA.
Driving from the John Wayne-Orange County airport, I couldn't help but notice the large 'Crevier' logo on a nearby hangar. I immediately knew before I flew out early the next day I had to go there. By coincidence, I soon learned it was walking-distance from my hotel
Entering with a non-Porschephile friend I mentioned the Gulf Blue C4S story, & how c4sdave first saw it advertised there. To show him a rough color match, I walked toward a light blue Beetle.
Speaking of color match, guess what was behind: Gulf Blue Turbo S, (A.K.A., "The mythical Martini Turbo S")
