Not really where this group is focused + not really any point in racing a 993 these days, right? (Other thread Kai posted about Gamroth, etc. racing theirs notwithstanding.)
Best stuff in our area is coming from Tony & Joe Collichio. (Reacted), Rennlister's Cayman racer is in progress now; and you can find updates on their Facebook page. Work of art.
Bottom line is that a 993 would be the 11th choice of 10 cars I'd consider for wheel-to-wheel at this point, let alone turning into a track rat.

yah oh absolutely your right, its a shame since the chassis is so nice and stiff. I just love what ive seen in the 90's with the racecars I wish that more people were into that kinda fabrication and racer stuff in this forum.
I enjoy the crowd and the cars and I for one would love to make a car much like they used back in the day. I agree with you but at the sametime I enjoy working on cars and getting my hands dirty. Having the opportunity to build something like the cup cars or rsr or evos of the day or even own something like that would be a dream cometrue. caymens are nice and all but I just never really got into it much, I enjoy the 911's and mainly the 993.
There are guys in here that have done this to their cars as I recall bill v, spartin and jdistefa just to name a few. I just love these 993's and it would be nice to see more of this type of thing in this forum. I love the maintenance threads I get behind all of it. Whatever your doing with your 993 be it maintaining it or changing it into a racecar im all for it.

Your cage is looking excellent! I gathered from our discussion that you are doing all of the work yourself. Nice work!
I would love to post some photos of my 993's cage, but I won't be down south to get any photos for another month.
Cheers!

I'll snap some tomorrow inside the Super Secret Workshop of the 910s.......even though replicating what the factory did ~50 years ago is frightening when viewed through the lens of today's workmanship.

Things finally started happening with my 993 chassis...it's been stripped completely and will be ultrahigh pressure washed out of all material. After that the cage building will commence. The cage will be built by one of the best builders in the country. It will be as close as possible to a original EVO cage with some modern alterations and will have FIA certification.
I will post photos in my build thread soon.

There are people here who have converted their 993s into beautiful full caged track cars.
I recall the blue smurf which is now in canada. Just beautiful.
I am looking to go door to door racing and a Cayman is what i will end up using for obvious reasons but I would love to own a well prepped fully caged 993 for track fun.
(993 Carrera Cups, 993 RSR and GT2 evos are indeed dream cars that i will never get to experience but a clone would get one close to the experience).
