OT: Support my petition to repeal to 25 year import rule

Truthfully, I'd rather see the white house spend their time elsewhere. I also think it more pertinent to get rid of the 1975 smog cutoff in Calif, to go back to a rolling 25-30 year cutoff.

Just signed the petition!
I am a Canadian living in NY, but have been living outside N. America for periods since '95. I just shipped a 97 C2S to Canada from Switzerland last summer (originally brought there in house shipment from Japan where the car was purchased in '07). It sat in Switzerland 5yrs in storage except for occasional European road trips on holidays awaiting the 15yr rule to lapse. Now it sits in Ottawa and gets used when I go home. I wish I could bring it to NYC but the 25yr rule prevents me from doing so...
So thanks again for kicking off this initiative, although I'm not holding my breath!

Magnus walker has now been contacted.
We're at almost 40,000
Even if you have no interest in importing a car, the other side issue is wasteful government spending on seizing vehicles, harmonizing trade with Canada (who have a 15 year rule), and maybe later a harmonization with Europe on crash and emissions tests...which would be good for everyone!
