The KT tool can be purchased inexpensively and the instructions for use are in the manual. For those without access to a shop that has one, how about providing the mechanic one to use?
Fister sells the tool on his site.

Any Suggestions for Miami Florida. it seems as all the 993 top mechanics and shops are in California. South Florida sucks. I am planning to do PSS10s at the end of the year (DIY) but the problem is the alignment.

I'm near Nashville and am in the process of installing PSS10's and new bushings so will need an alignment. I contacted PWR and he indicated he didn't want me watching as I planned on waiting while the work was done. Sounded odd but I guess I can understand. Did he set the KT on your car? I could go to someone in Atlanta as the distance is the same but I just want to find someone I can have confidence in. I know PWR has been around a while but never dealt with them. Any other feedback would be appreciated.

Go see Byron Tate in Seattle, owns Trueline and is the best around. Also a Porsche driver.

As Bill said the role of KT is to adjust dynamic toe. If someone's in a jam I have a KT gauge that I am willing to send out via courier both ways but IMHO it's a good investment if you are going to own a 993 for the long run.
As has been discussed before, as important as a 'good' alignment is making sure that everything else in the suspension is a-ok: ball joints, toe links, steering rack bushings, and other suspension bushings... and to make sure that everything is appropriately torqued, especially inboard eccentrics.
The rear end is much more tied down if one changes to heim jointed toe & K control arms. This allows for more precise static toe settings and hence usually lower KT adjustment numbers. And for anyone spending time on track it's a good idea to get solid rear subframe mounts.
Lastly, keep in mind that adjusting front toe to great precision is a fools errand with the factory sloppy inner tie rods
