Default 993 aluminum door sills

I found 2 sets of 993 door sills on fleabay for $50 each set I decided to pull the trigger since they looked nice and they look a lot like the OEM sets I have In my 993's , well the sills arived today and they look and feel just like the OEM I have , were this offered like this for our 993's from factory ?

I have never seen factory sills that said 993 on them. They have all had a model designation on them (carrera, c4s, turbo, etc.). Nice looking though.

seller ID is "ci-usa" - from the best of my research, they are aftermarket sills and 993 script was never offered by Porsche. They look great though! Good luck!

I don't remeber the sellers name , all I know is that they came from Florida , I will install a set tomorrow and post pictures, I bought the last 2 sets he had because I wanted to buy 2 more sets and he said that all he had

I was eyeing those ones too. Thanks for beating me to the punch Rudy. I'm already spending way too much in repair costs right now to think about interior mods.

They are not aluminum, they are brushed stainless. Stainless would be more robust and less likely to scratch than aluminum sils.

I emailed the seller and will post my results

What is the proper way to attach these? Mine need to be replaced but the only attachment means I can think of would promote rust.

Id buy a set from the eBay guy too if he gets more in.

Kelvin, I use that 3m 2 side tape and it works well , now this ones came with the tape ready to go .

My 986 had OEM stainless steel door sills, they too were attached with double sided foam core tape. It should work fine for this application too.

I have some eBay stainless sills that came with double stick tape too, never bothered to install them.

I'll post pictures of a pair of factory CarreraS sills tomorrow. They have a double row of thin double stick foam tape on the back. They are stainless steel.
