I have both. One is no better then the other really IMHO.

The next 993 I buy will be either or. Makes no real difference as i would not go looking specifically for one.

They both drive like RWD cars.
The C4 grip can make the steering feel a little heavier but the grip it produces is superhero.
You cannot beat the grip of the C4. I run oversized Toyo R888 tires and I can crank the wheel into a turn and the car will take it.
The C2 has a lighter steering feel and is also enjoyable in the corners but with a different character.

How you throw these things into a corner changes between the awd model and rwd model. Fun learning each of them.

Run data to compare between the techniques? Cuz I drive them the same, and my data traces (and math channels when I've cared to go that far) run basically 2 mph slower everywhere. Which is to be expected with one being a street car, and the other fully prepped.

Not sure I've ever thrown a car into a corner, absent my earliest days running off pavement stage rally.

The C4 has a wide turning circle. I haven't compared it with a C2 but assume the C2 is tighter. It's a minor factor. I love my C4.

The 993 C4 weighs only 110 pounds more than the C2. In the 993, the C4 allows enough rear wheel spin and also dials up the front wheel grip. No torque is delivered to the front wheels until the rears slip, which allows a maximum of 30% of available torque to front axle.

In 1995 the C4 cost $3,300 more than the C2. In December 1994 Car & Driver wrote, "Trust us, this car (993 C4) is more than $3,300 better than the rear-drive Carrera (with a limited-slip, which is standard on C4) -- If Porschephiles were perfectly openminded, the sales mix would flop to 70/30 all-wheel-drive. It's simply that good."

"THE VERDICT: Porsche has discovered the perfect mix of tail-out fun and all-wheel-drive security."
Best I have heard yet....Thx!
