You do NOT need to take off the door panel to change the handle. Just take off the lower portion as Spokes said. Use vice grips to pull the pin out.

thanks guys, for the how to tips here... this took all but 20 minutes...
remove just the lower door box, w pliers hold the door release arm, remove from handle, remove pin from handle, remove plastic bushing thing from stock door handle, replace bushing thing into new handle, and reassemble everything.

i like these. but now i want an aluminum frunk release lever...

next up are the tranny and engine mounts next week...

Guys how does the pin come out? I had the door pocket off but couldn't figure out how the pin came out to install my new Rennline Door Handles see my pic. Is there a trick to getting it out?

Use thin vice grips to start it down and then pull from the bottom. Thin screw driver can also get it started pushing down from the top.

Thanks! This helps! Wasn't sure if it went up or down... I guess it just sits in there real snug then?

If you remove the door card from the door shell you can then get access behind the door card which allows you to remove the interior door handle.

https://www.pelicanparts.com/techart...doorpanel2.htm

Once you do that you have access to the hardware for that latch which is integrated into the interior door handle.

I'm in the mountains right now but once I get back later this week will share some pics what I am talking about.
