I'm still working on the route. I'm balancing work with planning and work is consuming me during the day. I'm on now to say I will be done planning both route ideas before I go to bed tonight. everyone who's in or questionable should wake up to pm's with routes.

both route's have stoppage points along the way, just not noted nor shown.

it seems that the winery is the favorite choice, so we will be going there.
the route for it can include parts around west point(cliffs of insanity I think is their nickname) would add about 45mins to the drive. if memory serves me right, the winery doesn't open till 10 and café not till 11 so we have a little time to play with.
planned meet time is 8am, I believe as posted in the original post by curve lover. the spot is located in the center of the North and South bound lanes between exit 5 and exit 4 on the palisades parkway. entry is free, and available from both directions. we will be leaving and heading north. there is a gas station there, I don't know the brand, but I'm sure they have 93(fricken better)
