993 sunroof rattle/creak

It might be worth it just to take it apart. It is not a very complicated assembly.
After I took mine completely apart and checked everything and tightened it all back up it, it is very quiet. I had a broken cable.

Mine also makes a very faint vibration/creaking sound. My wife can't even hear it but it drives me nuts. I remember reading a thread a whole back about putting some felt pads under the vinyl to eliminate this.

Yep, here too
Once or twice on a long drive I nudge the sunroof vinyl and this is enough to make the light creaking stop. At least for a while...
I always tell myself that I'll try some silicone or 404 protectant on it.
I like the felt idea.

I used felt to fix the rattle on my sunroof. Post #14 in the following thread is a description of what I did.

I'm not in front of my PC but if you Google " 993 sunroof TSB" a link shows up for the 996 which is the felt installation instruction. I imagine the fix is similar.

The pop-up wind blocker part of mine seems to flop around on bumps. Not so much a creaking noise.
Are you guys experiencing something similar? I imagine it's spring loaded, just need to locate the spring.
