Two post would be ideal but the building has a timber frame floor system for aesthetic reasons, I did not want the clutter of adding two more ugly steel posts, if the buildings only purpose was mechanical work then I would have gone that way, I am shooting for a more finished look inside and love the idea of the scissors being flush with the floor when down, I am installing a full height lift though so I should be able to walk under it , ceiling heights are about 10'-4"
