Hi Todd; I looked through your company website, very nice work indeed....a tip of the hat to you!
I've done some shops using the plywood wainscot idea and found it works well to install AC plywood over the GWB rather than under....it takes paint very nicely and is much more durable than the GWB surface. Even better than AC if you are willing to spend the money is MDO plywood; screw heads can be filled, and butt joints can be beveled slightly and articulated.
Carry on!!

Very nice building and space indeed. You're going to roll like a pig in slop over the possibilities ..
Our GA home has an addition by its former owners. It has three 10ft wide garage doors across a 40ft wide span. It's 40ft wide by 36ft deep garage .... with a home office above.
Good luck with your project.
PS. Think H20 radiant heat ... Buderus, Vessman as boilers , etc. .. Once you go radiant H20 in floor heat - "There's no Substitute"

I skipped the GWB all together. Just used 3/4" AC plywood and a washable paint. I countersunk and flush set the screws in case I want to get in the walls in the future. You can see the joints if you look for them but most people don't. The plywood can handle just about anything you can hang from it.

Here are some photos of the progress
Footings are dug as of yesterday
Hoping to form footings next week
I am wrestling with the trade offs between a scissor lift and a two post lift
I love the scissor lift for the fact that it can be installed flush but I am concerned about access. The two post seems to have all the access you would ever need, but i would love to not have those damn posts in the air all the time
Any one with a full height scissor lift out there who can comment?

Very cool. I know when we got started on ours, I couldn't wait & it seemed like it took forever. Keep the updates coming.

Nice! We're practically neighbors. My barn is in the pic below (built in 1900). I used to have a lot more toys, but the extra space is nice. One other very very very important piece of equipment for the workspace: Urinal :-)

Some over due pics of the foundation
The foundation went in over the summer, along with about 120 linear feet of retaining wall, all the utility lines were laid pre back fill. It is nice having the yard back in place, hard to believe it once looked so torn apart. Planning on starting the framing in the spring, I am going to do some hybrid framing, part post and beam and part stick built. I am going to insulate the bejesus out of this thing to trap the heat off that slab.
Cant wait to get going, have been thinking a lot about the lift again and am really leaning toward a full or mid height scissor installed flush with the floor.
That's all for now...

Looks Good! Have you considered usings SIPS since your doing a hybrid and really wanting a high R value I build alot of hybrids and have had great results with SIPS and huge benefits over conventional batts and even icynene
